    If you wish to return your product for any reason please contact us by phone or email. We will happily arrange the courier collection for you. 

    We will accept returns up to 365 days from receipt so long as the item is in the original packaging and in original, as new/unused, saleable condition.* 

    For unwanted products to be retrned to us you will need to pay for the courier. £35 for bikes, £14.99 for conversion kits and £4.99 for other products. 

    If your product needs to be returned for a warranty issue we will handle all shippings costs.

    *We will accept returns on all products for up to 365 days except motorbikes and mopeds for which the return period is 14 days. For these items it will be the customers responsibility to return them to the store in as new/unused, salable condition.

    Please note that for hygiene reasons we cannot accept returns for undergarments if they have been worn. We understand that you would like to try on clothes for fit but when doing so please wear some form of clothing underneath. Otherwise it can be a very grim process for our returns staff to inspect and no refund can be given.
    Once your product has been received at Powerbikes it will be inspected before a refund can be given. A refund can only be given once goods have been inspected so there may be a small delay in the refund being paid.

     

    Motorbikes and mopeds can only be returned within 14 days of original order.

    *NEW* 1500W Electric Bike Conversion Kit. Rear 250/1500w 48v E-Bike Conversion Kit by Cyclotricity. Switchable between 250w (road legal) and 1500w (Offroad only).

    Electric bike kit specifications:

    • Motor: 1500W gearless brushless rear hub motor, comes integrated in a wheel size of your choice.
    • Restricted to 250W and 25km/h by default as a road-legal kit
    • 1500W mode reaches maximum speed of 34mph once de-restricted (requires 48V battery)
    • Wheel size: 26inch,27.5", 700c, 28inch or 29er
    • Wheel material: Double walled alloy rim with reinforced spokes to withstand extra pressure.
    • Throttle: thumb type – gradual lever, the further it is pressed, the more power is provided.
    • Brake levers: Electric levers that also cut the power when applied.*
    • Controller: 30A current
    • Cables: Motor cable and system cable (designed for simplicity and minimal wiring)
    • Bag: for mounting the controller
    • Brake compatibility: Compatible with both disc brakes and V-brakes
    • Fork compatibility: 135mm between fork drop-outs (which is the vast majority of rear forks that are suitable for a derailleur)

    *Note: Most users do not fit them. These are only compatible with mechanical brakes, not hydraulic. There is now an option for Tektro Hydraulic Brakes with cut off switches for an additional £99

    Apart from a battery, the above is all that is needed to fully convert a bicycle into an electric bike. All our kit packages include these essential items. All you need to add is a battery (and the optional PAS upgrade if required).

    Pedal Assist System Upgrades

    Why not upgrade your conversion kit by adding our optional Pedal Assist Systems (PAS)?  A Pedal Assist System is a device that senses your pedalling and makes your kit give automatic assistance, i.e. you do not have to press the throttle throughout your journey. It consists of an advanced LCD handlebar monitor which not only gives you five levels of power, but also displays your speed, journey distance, time, average speed and many other readings. The LCD computer is required to unlock the full power of 1500W for off-road use.

    Although these are optional upgrades, we highly recommend that you install a Pedal Assist System as it will transform your riding experience and improve the longevity of the battery.

    IMPORTANT: If you wish to include a Pedal Assist System with your eKit, the bottom bracket on your bike needs to be a Square Taper type (which is the most common bottom bracket on ordinary bikes). If you don’t have a square taper bottom bracket, you may need to replace it as well as the crank arms to make your bike compatible with the PAS. If in doubt, please consult a bike service shop on how to fit a square taper bottom bracket on your bike.

    Alternatively, you may opt for purchasing the LCD Dashboard only without the PAS if you want the de-restriction functions but prefer not to fiddle with your bottom bracket.

    Which kit is right for me?

    The most cost effective strategy in a kit purchase is working out in advance what you’ll generally use it for. That way, you can pick a variation suitable for your needs without adding unnecessary costs. Front and rear drive kits both have their own unique characteristics. We have divided our kits into three categories that generally cover the needs of most people. To help you narrow down what’s right for you, here is a summary of the major differences of this particular kit compared to its other two counterparts:

    1500W Rear Drive

    This category has been developed purely for the thrill seekers among us. Since it’s a 48V system, the battery makes it more costly than its counterparts. Having said that, it offers an adrenaline fuelled ride rarely found in conversion kits. Unlike the 500W version which was mainly created for on-road use (and some occasional off-road fun), this kit has been purely developed for an enhanced off-road experience packed with torque and power. This kit will propel you to speeds up to 34mph and climb incredibly steep hills.

    This kit is recommended for the outdoorsy spirit, the mountain biker and you who appreciate the exhilaration that comes with speed and power. We’ve developed this configuration specifically for you and made this kit especially to satisfy the thrill you seek!

    Please note that the kit will be supplied restricted to 250W by default and requires the LCD to de-restrict it to the full 1500W for off-road use.

    Things to think about before purchasing this rear drive conversion kit:

    – The rear drive motors are only compatible with a 3speed, 5speed, 6speed, 7speed, 8speed, 9speed or 10speed freewheels (not compatible with a cassette type sprocket, i.e. if your bike is fitted with a cassette, you can purchase a freewheel togther with your kit for it to fit). If you have a single speed bike, you can install a 3speed freewheel for compatibility (and use only one of the 3 speeds).

    – The rear forks on your bike need to have 135mm clearance between the drop-outs (which is the case with the vast majority of bikes)

    – The LCD computer is necessary to unlock the full power of these high power motors.

    – The electric brake levers supplied with the kits are mechanical.* I.e. they are not compatible with hydraulic brakes or brakes that are combined with gear levers. However, installing the brake levers are not a necessity and the kit will work fine without them. Moreover, the throttle is spring-loaded, i.e. it will cut the power whenever the thumb is released from it for safety.

    • Charger: UK plug charger with LED indicating level of charge (battery should be fully charged within 5 hours)
    • Frame size: 17″ or 20″ Alloy 6061 frame
    • Suspension: SR Suntour Alloy
    • Gears: 7 speed Shimano derailleur
    • Rims: 26″ Alloy double walled
    • Saddle: PVC leather
    • Bell: Included
    • Total weight of e-Bike including battery: 24kg

     

    Brakes

    The kit with cable brake levers as standard. The levers have a cut off switch built in which cuts the motor. It is not absolutely necessary to fit these as the kit will work fine without them-the motor stops when you stop pedalling or let go of the throttle. However they are a handy safety feature. 

    There is now an option for Hydraulic Brakes. We can supply Tektro E-Bike Hydraulic Brakes with cut off switches for £99 when bought with this kit. Tektro Hydraulic Brakes come as:Brake Levers, Hose, Calipers and 180mm disc. Brakes are attached to European Spec so depending which side you prefer brakes to be on you may need to swap the brake hoses around. 

    LED Display

    A basic display giving 3 levels of power for pedal assist. Battery Level indicator and speed display in Kilometers per hour.

    LCD Display

    This display has many more functions built in - Digital readouts for speed (Km/h or Mp/h), odometer, timer, trip and battery level. It also has 5 levels of pedal assist.

    Frame Battery

    With its sleek design, the frame battery is made to pack an enormous amount of power in a small package. It’s mounting position on the bike down-tube creates a low centre of gravity for light manoeuvrability and an enhanced feeling of an overall lighter electric bike. Available in two versions:

    48V/12Ah

    – Suitable for our 1000W & 1500W motor system

    – Up to 30miles on one charge* (Range could drop down to 10 miles once de-restricted to full power)

    –USB Port: Active

    48V/16Ah

    – Suitable for our 1000W & 1500" motor system

    – Up to 40miles on one charge* (Range could drop down to 15 miles once de-restricted to full power)

    -USB Port: Inactive

    Pannier Rack Battery

    With its high capacity cells, the Pannier Rack Battery is all about reliability and range. Provided with its own free rack, it makes for great practical use and can be turned completely inconspicuous when covered with pannier bags.

    If you intend on converting a step-through bike, this is almost certainly the most suitable option for your conversion:

    48V/12Ah

    – Suitable for our 1000W & 1500W motor system

    – Up to 30miles on one charge* (Range could drop down to 10miles once de-restricted to full power)

    -USB Port: None

    *Range mentioned are based on optimum cycling conditions and can vary depending on various factors such as restricted mode, pedal assist settings, number of stops/starts, tyre pressure, terrain and the weight of the cyclist. Based on restricted 250W mode only.

     

    Torque Arm

    This is an optional extra however it’s highly recommended on higher power conversions.

    Torque arms are there to help your bicycle’s dropouts (the part of the bike that holds onto the axles of the wheels) resist the torque of an electric hubmotor. Normal bicycle wheels don’t apply much torque to the bicycle dropouts. When you add a high power motor there can be much more torque applied than the the dropouts were originally designed to take.

     
    Technical Information

    We do not supply paper instructions as it is extremely wasteful. Many people do not look at them and just put them into general waste instead of recycling.     The UK/EU regulations dictate that a kit must not exceed the rated power of 250W to be road-legal. Which is not great news for the thrill-seekers and power hungry among us who want to have the occasional fun off-road yet still be able to ride sensibly and legally on-road. A purchase of the common high-powered kit will come with its legal implications. On the other hand, the practicality of a road-legal kit means giving up the fun one could have off-road. So which kit do you choose?

    With these new rear wheel kits, CycloTricity had set out to resolve this very dilemma for its customers. We have developed a unique system that allows the user to swap between two modes depending on whether you are on-road or off-road, allowing you to unlock the full power where it is safe and legal to do so.

    This dual-mode system is embedded in the LCD Dashboard which can unlock the full power of the kit using a special code.

    Please note that this is not the same as a de-restriction switch which has been questionable from a legal standpoint.
